John F. Kennedy School in Berlin Supports NTR!

Greetings from Berlin, Germany! This is Casey Cochran the Non Toxic Revolution Program Director.

We have been here since the end of June working on the Keep A Breast Foundation Non Toxic Revolution exhibition. There is one massively important aspect of the Keep A Breast Foundation and that’s education. Both the Foundation and the NTR program rely on education to build awareness about the threat of cancer, how to limit your chances of getting cancer, and the toxic chemicals and ingredients that infiltrate our environment and food supply. Which is why when I was invited to give two workshop presentations at the prestigious John F. Kennedy School in Berlin I was super excited at the opportunity to share with the students.

The workshops were held on June 27th just south of Berlin at the JFK German-American school, an educational institute that aims to provide bicultural and bilingual education to its 1700 students.

The Non Toxic Revolution website is divided into six sections to make the information easily learned and retained; Your House, Your Mouth, Your Body, Plastic Sucks, Heart and Soul, and Your Pet. Each workshop presented the students with education about toxic chemicals and information about alternatives in order to avoid possible cancer-causing ingredients in products ranging from house cleaners, body care products, food, plastics, pet products, as well as tips to keep the mind healthy.

We showed our animated PSA to the students as well as an engaging round of questions and answers that promoted interaction amongst the students in the workshops.

Following the workshops I was approached by students who were thankful and appreciative of our time spent there and deeply interested in having continued education at their school. They wanted posters, shirts, bracelets, and stickers; you can see below a boy quickly put a sticker on his headphones!

A girl sent me an email later in the day inquiring about setting up a campus club with her friend to work for further education of the other students that is already in the works. I was so happy when I saw that she attended the exhibition with her father who was also supportive of our work. It is because of this support that shows us that the education and awareness we provide is valued and appreciated.

For me it is clear that this exhibition and the presentation of the Non Toxic Revolution to the people of Berlin has been incredibly well received and beneficial. We will be seeking sponsors to continue our work here for further education within Berlin and beyond and I look forward to giving more workshops and presentations soon!

Thank you Berlin and thank you to the students and faculty of JFK School Berlin for supporting Keep A Breast and the Non Toxic Revolution!

~Casey
